The term active is generally used to describe loudspeaker cabinets that "power themselves" with their own built-in audio power amplifiers.
</p><p>The idea was originally to make musicians' lives easier - no separate power amps to cart around - and to hold signal degradation to a minimum by using short signal paths and few cables.
</p><p>In recent years, we at HK AUDIO have developed sound reinforcement systems that deserve to be called "active" in the truest sense of the word.
</p><p>In these systems, the onboard electronic components consist not merely of a power amp but include all required components.
