history

Warehouse Sound Hire Company was formed in 1978 in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia when three musicians pooled their collective sound equipment and appointed Sven Langebeck to set up and operate the new business.

The newly formed enterprise quickly established a niche market for local bands who needed small, powerful, portable sound systems that withstood the rigours of touring Australia in the back of a truck.

In 1981 Warehouse Sound Systems Pty Ltd was formed when Sven Langebeck joined the partnership as Managing Director.

Utilising the technologies and experience gained from touring systems, Warehouse Sound Systems began installing reliable, high volume sound systems for nightclubs and live music venues, supplying many of Melbourne's landmark venues.

Warehouse Sound Systems has since expanded its clientele to include theatres, restaurants, churches, auditoriums, sporting arenas, shopping centres, schools, and more.

By the end of the 90's Sven Langebeck had progressively acquired the stakeholding of his former partners.

In the new millenium Warehouse Sound Systems continues to meet the challenges of a changing market with innovative use of new technologies as they emerge.

Sven Langebeck, founder and managing director
